Chorleywoods JDD team began this seasons campaign with a win at Abbotts Langley. The home team chose to bat first and were rocked by a spell of 3-8 by Jamie Smithson, The Wood then turned to left arm spinner Matt Grant who bowled his 8 overs with excellent control taking 3-16 and Andrew Dunning, another of the Woods young leggies who finished with 2-23. There were also wickets for Liam Sing and Graeme Edwards. The Woods reply was built around a partnership of 51 between Graeme Edwards, 32, and Freddie Dare who finished on 42* seeing the away team through to a 5 wicket win.
