David Rayvern AllenNew!
It is with great sadness that we've learned of the death of CWCC Vice-President David Rayvern Allen after a long battle with cancer.

As the media tributes today show, David was a very highly respected cricket writer, archivist and historian who was well-known and liked throughout the sport. Obviously we at CWCC knew him as a good friend of the club, who loved to watch and talk about the game.

David will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his his family at this sad time.

David's Funeral will be held on Tuesday 28th October at 11.30am at St Marys Church, Denham. UB9 5BH and will be followed by a burial at Woodcock Hill Cemetry, Harefield Road, Rickmansworth. WD3 1PD.

Club Day 2014 - A ReviewNew!
Thanks to everyone who turned up and took part in an incredibly successful Club Day. The weather was happy & jolly and was matched by the 'happy' and 'jolly' state of most of the players. Congratulations to the 'Life Guards' team who somehow managed to pull off a tournament win.

Pete Dunning won Player of the Tournament for his innings in the final and Will Bryant won Young Player of the Day. Freddie Dare was given DOTD/The Boobie Prize for being despatched for 4, TWICE, by his younger brother George Dare. Karaoke was a huge success with the last song sung at around 6:30am by David Harrigan.

A huge thanks must go to John Chadwick for organising all the food and drinks, along with many other bits and bobs, Neil Hodson for manning the bar and BBQ, Simon Dare for umpiring and BBQing, all the scorers for, well, scoring and Neil Ret for organising the trophies and taking photos (which will hopefully be on the website soon).

Don't forget to keep the August bank holiday Sunday of 2015 free for the next Club Day. The next big club event is the 2014 Awards Dinner being held at Rickmansworth Golf Club, in the same (but larger) format as last year (details on a below news item). 53 have been sold already so hurry to get your place confirmed.
