| CWCC won the toss and put Southgate Compton into bat, after an
initial burst from 15 year old Lyden Ryan who took 1-16 off 6 overs we
turned to the experience of Mike Rose and Mark Sinderbury... their
figures were 6-49 and 2-42 respectivly both off 18 overs... they both
bowled with control in very difficult wet conditions, this was high
class stuff and meant we where able to restrict Southgate to 142-9.
After a break for rain CWCC regular opening pir of Dare ( aged 47 ) and
Smithson ( aged 15 ) put on their 6th opening stand of 50 with
Smithson going to make an excellent 50, his first for the
club... Tim Moore then smashed 41* in quick time to see CWCC
home for the loss of 3 wickets with 11 overs spare and we have now
moved into top place with 4 games to go.
