| Chorleywood Saturday 3rds - League v Abbots Langley 3 |
| 8th Jul 06 - HL - Westwood Park |
| Lost by 45 runs |
| Abbots Langley achieved their first win of the season against local rivals Chorleywood, winning the toss skipper Phil Lewins led from the front with a determined 69, and despite a late flurry of wickets with 13 year old leggie Andrew Dunning taking 3-35 Abbots posted a very competitive 204-8. Chorleywood started slowly against the spin of Paras Solanki and despite 79 from Simon Dare were never up with the rate. The match went into the last 4 overs with the Woods final pair of O'Mara and Dunning desperately trying to hang on for a draw as Abbots tried every combination of bowler. Lewins entrusted the last over to Solanki and off the 6 delivery took the final wicket to give his team a richly deserved 30 points.
