| Chorleywood Saturday 3rds - League v Old Elizabethans 2 |
| 9th Sep 06 - HL - Westwood Park |
| Match Drawn |
| Despite two excellent spells of seam bowling from youngsters David Harrigan who took 3-32 and Pete Sinderberry with 2-45 The Wood struggled to cope with a powerful Old Elizabethans batting line up and some poor ground fielding allowed the visitors to post 250-7 off 50 overs. An opening partnership of 71 between skipper Simon Dare and Sharat Dua gave Chorleywood some hope but once Dare was dismissed for 75 (giving him a league aggregate of 661 runs at 73.4 this season) at 139-3 it was clear a draw was the best the home team could hope for. This, they achieved thanks to a 13 over stand by 12 year olds Ryan Toms and Pete Sinderberry who stood up to a barrage of bouncers, slower balls, spinners and everything else the opposition skipper could think of, a fine performance from the young stars of the future.
